Boni Grimmel

Assistant Project Director

Boni was raised in the state of Maine and moved to Hawaiʻi at 18 to attend the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. There she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree and then a Master’s in Social Work.
She started in social services at Hale Kipa where she worked for 6 years. After graduating with her Master’s Degree she was hired by Catholic Charities on Oahu to help develop Nā ʻOhana Pūlama’s treatment foster care program. After four years with the program she moved to the Hawaiʻi island where she worked at Child Protective Services Case Management Unit for one year. Boni was then hired at The Casey Family Program where she worked for thirteen years as the Hilo office’s Social Work Supervisor.

Boni enjoys swimming, cooking, reading, traveling, and new challenges and adventures.
